Cash Prize Winners Announced

On Sunday, February 15, 2015, the Tsuruoka NL group held the draw for its Cash Prize Fundraiser (14-10336700LT).  The winners are as follows:

  • 2nd place – Mark Johnson – Ticket # 2885 – $500.00
  • 3rd place – Kim Pottle – Ticket # 4804 –  $100.00
  • 4th place – Isabel Stone – Ticket # 5802 –  $100.00
  • 5th place – Gerard Penney – Ticket # 552 –  $100.00
  • 6th place – Dustin Molloy – Ticket # 1148 –  $100.00
  • 7th place – Dave Porter – Ticket# 5669 – $100.00

On behalf of the entire club, we would like to thank everyone who supported the club by purchasing tickets, and as well to all the members and families that worked so hard to sell tickets over the last few months.  All monies raised will go towards the costs of team travel to the 2015 Tsuruoka Nationals that will be held this May 2015 in Moncton, New Brunswick.

Halloween Pre-teen Dance Fundraiser

Tsuruoka NL would like to remind everyone of our upcoming Halloween Pre-Teen Dance this coming Friday, October 24, 2014 at the Paradise Rotary Youth Community Center from 7:00PM – 9:00PM.  Admission is $5 each, and prizes will be awarded for best costume! Spead the word, and we hope to see you all there!

Annual Breakfast with the Easter Bunny!

The Tsuruoka NL Annual Breakfast with the Easter Bunny is fast approaching.

TIME:   8:30am – Noon
Location:  Holy Innocents Church, 297 Paradise Road

We are very fortunate this year to have many supplies left over from our Breakfast with Santa. What we do need are Prizes, Prizes, Prizes, So for Easter we are asking for monetary donations to pick up the last few things.

All donations should be given to Sempai, Cavell Peyton, or Patti Johnston.

We will also need volunteers to come out the night before to help set up and to help the morning of the breakfast

  • Front Door
  • Various Tables
  • Face Painting
  • Pictures

Most importantly tell all of your family and friends to come out and enjoy breakfast, play a game or two even have their face painted.  Remember that all funds raised go towards the costs of karate gear for new and existing students!

Breakfast With Santa

The Tsuruoka NL Annual Breakfast with Santa will be held this Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the Holy Innocents Anglican Church in Paradise.

Time:  8:30 AM – 12:00 PM
Cost:  $3 per child/$5 per adult

As usual, we look for donations to ensure the success of the fundraiser.  Donations of cash will be accepted to cover the costs of food and prizes.  If you wish to donate items instead of cash, we will require the following:

  • Pancake Mix (the just add water kind …President’s Choice Brand)
  • Bottles of Syrup
  • Two burners for chafing dishes
  • Approximately 200-250 plastic forks and knives.
  • Toys (preferably from the Dollar Stores) for the games of chance for kids
  • One large item for a door prize.

As usual, there will be the Prize Bag table, Nail Polish Station, Lollipop Tree, etc, and to top it off, a picture with Santa!  Please spread the word out, as this is open to everyone!  Thanks and see you on Saturday!!!!

 

Pre-Teen Dance cancelled…..

Please be advised that the pre-teen dance fund raiser that was scheduled for this coming Friday, November 8, 2013 at the Paradise Rotary Youth Community Center is cancelled!  Please ensure you spread the word, and see you at the next one!

Preteen Dance Fundraiser/Class Schedule

There will be a preteen dance this evening, Friday, May 10, from 7:00PM – 10:00PM at the Paradise Community Center.  As usual, we will require both male and female chaperons  that should be on site by 6:45 is possible, to assist with the setup.  If you are able to assist, please contact Sempai.

As well, there will be a class scheduled for Saturday, May 11, 2013 from 1:30 – 4:30PM at the Paradise Dojo.  This class is open to all yellow belts and above, and for all age groups.  The session will concentrate on kumite training only.  Attendance is not mandatory, but is recommended.
